George Burns – Back by Popular Demand. New Songs, New Jokes, New Stories…Same old George
WATERFALLS ROOM
12:30 pm – 1:15 pm
Duffy Hudson, Actor/Master Impressionist
To know George Burns is to love George Burns. The cigar, the glasses, the wit and the kind Grandfather like image he projected in his later years all found a way into our hearts. Many of us grew up with George as another member of the family. As an impressionist, Duffy is always looking for new characters. Choosing an entertainer was a great fit, allowing him to create a show that was light and funny, and something that would make people laugh and leave them with a smile. Out of all his characters in his one man shows, Duffy enjoys portraying George Burns the most. They say the dead can’t talk — well Duffy is doing a great job bringing George back to life! duffyhudson.com

Age Well, Drive Smart – Keys to Safe Driving
WATERFALLS ROOM
1:30 pm – 2:15 pm
Presented by the California Highway Patrol Senior Volunteer Program
Talking with an older family member about their driving is often difficult. Most of us put off that talk until the person’s driving has become what we believe to be dangerous. When driving stops mobility needs to continue, and senior drivers deserve counsel and assistance in looking for other options. The CHP developed this free Age Well, Drive Smart class that provides older drivers the tools to driving safer and driving longer. The class is a great way for our seniors to educate themselves, evaluate their driving abilities, and improve their driving skills. The program is supported by the Keeping Everyone Safe grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
The California Highway Patrol is an exhibitor at the expo.
CASCADE ROOM
1:30 pm – 2:15 pm
Nicole Abou-Chakra and
Robert Goldberg
Presented by Vintage Senior Living – Burbank
In this session, Ms. Abou-Chakra and Mr. Goldberg will discuss the pros and cons of using family members as caregivers. When trusted and loving family members provide care, the pros are significant. Most important, worries about safety are greatly lessened, care quality will be high and you can rely on the caregiver to show up when they say they will. There is also the obvious – a strong attachment to the person they are caring for. All this can make a tremendous difference. But the burdens of caregiving can lead to resentment, burnout, and friction among family members, especially when the primary caregiver feels that others don’t help enough.
Nicole Abou-Chakra is Director of Marketing and Sales and Robert Goldberg is the Executive Director Vintage Senior Living Burbank location of Southern California.
Vintage Senior Living is a Silver Sponsor and exhibiting at the expo.
